HAPPY 2013!! It has been a long spell since I have posted. I am currently reading MOCKINGBIRD by Kathryn Erskine. It is the touching story about a young girl with Aspberger's trying to cope with her teenage brother's tragic death. It is funny, heartwarming, and a must read if you like realistic fiction. It won the National Book Award.

I have finally finished the Hunger Games series. I am not sure that I liked the ending. Let me know what you think.
Also, share what you are reading. We can all use a good read.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
We had a successful book fair and "Fall into Reading" week. I know that everyone is getting ready for the holidays. There is nothing like the gift of a book. Check out your local book store to find just the right one.
Enjoy and let me know what you are reading.

Welcome to a New Year!
I hope that everyone had a great summer. I have been doing a lot of reading these days trying to keep up so that I can give book talks and read some great books at our library. Right now I am reading THE DOLLHOUSE MURDERS. WOW! what a great book. It is the story of Amy who finds a doll house in her great-grandparents attic. The dollhouse is an exact replica of their house and the dolls are replicas of her great-grandparents and their children. Amy finds out that her great-grandparents died under mysterious circumstances. Strange things begin to happen in the dollhouse and this frightens Amy however, she is determined to solve the mystery.

Summer Reading Update
I've been talking will students and getting summer read recommendations. Here are just a few student suggestions.
Because of Winn Dixie
Jumanji
The Franny K. Stein series
The Junie B. Jones series.
If you have any others please feel free to add to our list.
Also, just a reminder to visit your local public library and join the summer reading club. It is all free and when you reach your reading goals there are some really great prizes. You can get tickets to Breakers Water Park and a trip to the Reid Park Zoo.
So, spend some time reading this summer and enjoy your time.

Summer is almost here. Share some fabulous summer reads.
Summer is almost here. It is a great time to pick up a good book or join a summer reading program. Your local public library is having a reading program chocked full of good books. Also, if you have a good summer read to share give everyone the title and author and a short summary.
My parent choice would be Ahab's Wife by Naslund
My young adult choice Out of my Mind by Draper
My intermediate choice would be Granny Torelli makes Soup by Creech
Enjoy your summer of fun and read for the love of it.
